JESUS USED BAD LANGUAGE

WHAT DOES THIS BAD HABIT REVEAL?

JESUS______________ BUT NEVER _________________.

John 8:1-11, “At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the groupand said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?”They were using this question as a trap,in order to have a basis for accusing him.But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stoneat her.”Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”11 “No one, sir,” she said.“Then neither do I condemn you,”Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

TO THE PROUD, HE SPOKE________________ BUT TO THE CONTRITE, HE SPOKE________________.

Isaiah 57:15, “15 For this is what the high and exalted One says—he who lives forever, whose name is holy:I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit,to revive the spirit of the lowlyand to revive the heart of the contrite.”

JESUS' _______________ GUIDED HIS __________________.

Luke 6:44-45, “44 Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers.45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”

Proverbs 4:23,“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”

My Response

How’s your heart? How’s your attitude? How you respond to other people’s sins reveals a great deal about your heart. If you respond judgmentally, you better check for pride. When we see people sin, it should break our heart. When we see people sin and they’re broken, we should be moved to compassion.

Ask for a clean heart today.

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me.
